Hello. How do you do. Ahoy hoy.
Various greetings and welcome to what I hope will be my long term for my time at University. I best do the standard usual, cliché opening blog.
The name of this blog comes from a phrase I have used for as long as I can remember: ‘Trust Me, I’m A Doctor.’ A friend at school had a Dad with a shirt saying ‘Trust Me, I’m An Engineer’ and since then I have replaced Doctor with whichever profession I feel like. Now that I am at Swansea University taking Physics I am taking the handle of Trust Me I’m A Physicist because, well, you should trust me because I’m a Physicist.
Second to cover is what this blog will cover, and right now I am not totally sure. I will cover scientific news with both new research, interesting articles I read and with my opinion on the political battle going on relating to the proposed cuts to scientific research funds in the UK. I’ll write little anecdotes and stories about my time as a student both to do with studying at Swansea and with student life in general. I live in a privately rented house which is unusual for a Fresher so I’m having to learn to be fully independent very quickly.
I’m also a gamer at heart, but I made the decision to leave my beloved PS3 at home as it will just distract me from my studies. Though, I can still talk about news and reviews that interest me as I still keep up to date with the latest news. I am also a keen (and in my opinion above average) Call of Duty player so come the Christmas holidays content related to Black Ops will probably flood up during the first week of those holidays.
The last thing to say is how often I will be updating this thing, and the answer is I don’t know. I would hope to be blogging every day or every other day, but I severely dislike forcing myself to write for the sake of writing.
Hopefully I’ll see you again soon.
